Authority scope is an applied interpretive governance term. It defines how a source should be used in an AI answer without granting it authority it does not have.
Why the term matters
An organization may be the primary authority for its official identity, published service scope, and boundaries. It cannot, however, self-certify reputation or erase qualified external criticism. That distinction is what makes governance useful and defensible.
