Gautier Dorval

Semantic architect, creator of interpretive SEO and specialist in interpretive governance. I design and govern digital presences so they are correctly understood by humans, search engines, AI systems and autonomous agents.

Based in Quebec. Founder of Pagup. Contributor to gautierdorval.com (doctrine), InferensLab (research) and interpretive-governance.org (standard).

Expertise

Six axes of work

Machine-first semantic architecture

Structure a site so that search engines and AI systems correctly understand the offering, the relationships and the information hierarchy.

Entity disambiguation

Stabilize the identification of persons, brands and organizations in knowledge graphs and generative responses.

Interpretive governance

Bound the inference space of AI systems through perimeters, hierarchies and verifiable machine-first artefacts.

Semantic collision reduction

Prevent abusive identity merges when multiple entities share vocabulary, a market or a similar context.

Interpretive SEO

Beyond ranking: stabilize the attribution, understanding and citation of your offering by AI systems. interpretive-seo.org

Execution and verifiable proof

Translate strategy into a site, machine surfaces and verifiable proof. This site is a direct demonstration.

Background

Where this approach comes from

The starting point is not a buzzword. It is a straightforward observation: since 2022, a site is no longer read by two agents (humans + Google) but by four (humans, search engines, generative AI, autonomous agents). Each layer reads differently. A site built for a single layer is, by definition, misunderstood by the other three.

Traditional SEO covers one layer. Content marketing covers another. Neither governs the consistency across all reading layers. That is the gap interpretive SEO and interpretive governance fill.

My work combines three disciplines that rarely speak to each other: semantic architecture (structuring a corpus so it is understandable), interpretive governance (controlling what AI systems infer from your assets) and web execution (translating all of that into a site, machine surfaces and verifiable proof).

Over 400 articles published on interpretive governance. A doctrinal framework formalized through InferensLab. A versioned formal standard on interpretive-governance.org.

Ecosystem

The work behind Pagup

Pagup is the visible face of a broader body of work: hundreds of published articles, a formal standard, a research program and concrete tools.

Commercial execution

This is it. Diagnostics, redesigns, interpretive governance. The site where ideas become concrete services and measurable results.

How it works

The delivery model

Pagup is a specialized practice, not a packaged agency. Engagements are led directly by the founder, from the initial reading to the final delivery.

Direct involvement

Every engagement is conducted personally. No middleman, no hidden subcontracting. You work with the person who designed the method.

Focused capacity

This model limits the number of concurrent engagements. In return, each intervention receives the structural attention it deserves.

Verifiable deliverables

Every engagement produces concrete artifacts: written diagnostic, documented architecture, published machine surfaces, structured corpus. Nothing is verbal only.
